Bio

Who cares about a history, especially one that lacks the unicorns of the present? This peach-haired Lalafell spends her summers prowling the snowy forests of the Coerthan Highlands, acting as a sort of ramshackle warden for the dwindling unicorn population that resides there. Her self-assigned responsibilities include unicorn tracking, following migratory patterns, notating habits, and recording births, deaths, and sickness. Perhaps her greatest responsibility of all, however, is fighting off those who dare to poach her beloved equines.

Though she may seem sweet, if a little brash, this diminutive guardian angel's greatest blessing flows from the barrel of a gun- something she's got oodles of. Make no mistake, this Dunesfolk has a heart of gold, but she is fervent in her cause. By any means necessary, Cecerise is resolved to keep these vulnerable creatures safe, even if it means giving would-be poachers an angel's kiss in gunpowder perfume & leadened lipstick.

During the off-season (most of the year, thanks to Coerthan frigidity) Cece's a relatively simple girl. She was raised to be a proper Dunesfolk woman by pair of Syndicate-bootlicking parents and a rotating cast of nannies. Though she wears it on her sleeve, Cecerise does not adequately understand nor value most parts of her privilege. She can at times be rude, snobby, condescending, or even classist without realizing it. Despite her insufferable blindspots Cecerise still manages to be a genuine, sweet, & sensitive little lady, who is (usually) willing to listen and learn.

Creepy Porcelain Doll

When she goes out after twilight, Cecerise has been known to style herself as a porcelain doll, clown, or poppet. Leaning on the skills she learned from the many cotillions of her youth, the little Dunesfolk fits herself with all manner of gaudy dresses, extravagant makeup, and as many ribbons & frills she can find. The whys are relatively simple. Cecerise likes to dress up, she likes to feel like a doll, & she thinks her size makes the act extra unsettling-- which is something she thoroughly enjoys.

Hook: You're gallivanting around one of the Eorzean city-states and catch an odd looking mammet looming in the distance, deciding to go after it for one reason or another.

Not always the brightest creature

Cecerise acts strangely around pineapples. She had a spoiled youth-- at least materially, which allowed her to reach adulthood without ever seeing one be prepared. She understands that it's food, and that people buy them for some reason, but deep in her core she is convinced that they must be some type of hostile seedkin lying in wait. Why else would an alleged fruit need to look so damn threatening?

This is far from the only thing her privileged upbringing blocked from entering her empty head, but it is one of the stupidest.

Hook: You've just witnessed some mind-numbingly vacuous bourgeois ineptitude from a Lalafell at a market stall, and it'd simply be a disservice to the star not to accost her for it.

A consistent theme throughout interactions with Cecerise is her affinity for blood. She is ever drawn to striking reds, sharps, and anything else that evokes the thought of blood. She may stutter and blush at the sight of knives or needles, and often carries her own. Cece may also fixate on flushing cheeks or any other physical indications of blood moving through one's body. She's not a vampire, just a little weirdo who blushes at keen edges, spilled wine, & nosebleeds.

Hook: You find a golden needle, chirurgical blade, or loose razor blade in a very odd place. The only person around is an unassuming Lalafell, and you decide to ask her if she saw the person who dropped it.

Hook: Walking around with bloodstains, wine stains, a particularly sharp looking sword, things that are pointy, red, have a coppery-smell, or anything similar? Cece likes those things.

💘 Romance & Sexuality 💘

Cece is a deeply romantic creature, and shares her affections effusively with those she finds sweet. She wants nothing more than to know people and see them, treasuring each and every detail they share with her. She wishes to know how to best care for those she enjoys, and how to make them feel seen, how to hold her adoration for them properly. More than anything Cecerise seeks meaningful connections, people who feel like they're close even when they're out of view.

Despite self-identifying as a lesbian, Cece is panromantic & on the asexual spectrum. She might not think she could fall in love with people of every gender, but she lacks a wide enough understanding of sexual & romantic orientation to have conscious discernment. Under the right circumstances Cece could go on dates with, develop romantic feelings for, and/or enter into a romantic relationship with anyone of any gender. Her stated preference for feminine qualities isn't altogether untrue, but ultimately Cecerise's greatest desire is to be close with people who are soft & gentle.
